Fun WA fishing trip with the Kalgoorlie boys Fishing Trip- Montebello Islands Week 12
This week we had a ball with lot’s of laughs with the boys from Kalgoorlie. This group of footy mates joined us on a 7 day Montebello Islands WA fishing trip. For a couple of the boys it was their first time doing this type of fishing while others had their own boats, everyone had a blast though.
The predominant species this week was Red Emperor. We got some great Reds including some nice big ones. Brendan who organised the trip was rewarded with a nice 30kg Sailfish. The boys also got a couple of big Coral Trout on Zman soft plastics.
Our decky Jake joined the boys for a spot of free diving. Jake supplied a nice feed of crayfish for dinner. Brocky looked a bit like a cray after diving with no suncream (the sun up here is strong!).
This week’s WA fishing trip also included some great reef fishing at the start of the week. The wind picked up towards the end of the week though so we hoped aboard Heart Starter and did some GT fishing and diving around the islands
This week was filled with funny moments. Jake had two hits of pontoon golf and let go of the club both times, ending with him jumping in after the club. He blames the suncream…
Hawk bet us $20 he could kick the footy into the tinny. Not only did he miss he fell in, giving us all our $20 worth of laughs.
The boys also spent plenty of time playing footy and beach cricket and creating their own “Monties Cup”. Everyone had a hit of pontoon golf which is always a lot of fun. This group really made the trip their own which is exactly what a Blue Lightning Charter is about!
The boys are already talking about booking another WA fishing trip, this time to the Abrolhos Islands and we look forward to having them back on board.
