7 day charter Montebello Islands, Dampier Archipelago Week 2 

We’re back from our first 7 day charter of the 2015 Montebello Island season and what a week it was. While the temps were a little lower than last week (in the mid 20’s) we were again treated to some awesome fishing. Catches included spanish mackerel, broad bar mackeral, trevella, GT’s, a big red emperor, coral trout, rankin cod, a squid and some chinamanfish. 

Although windy the week was topped off with the tag and release of 5 of 6 black marlin (in the 30-50kg range) on the last day as we were headed back to Dampier. 

Karl managed to make a name for himself being able to tie any knot. Meanwhile Dave cooked up a storm two nights in a row. Gwyn/Fabio managed their first black marlin and loads of reds. Carlos and CJ also managed a black marlin. Ian managed the red he so badly wanted and many a laugh was shared by the entire group.
