Beautiful conditions aboard Reely Black
We have had glass out conditions up here in the Dampier archipalego for two single day charters aboard Reely Black. It was great having Charmaine and Rick on board. Charmaine started out a little nervous as this was first real fishing trip but she soon settled in and managed to out fish Rick (Sorry buddy I had to put that in).
We got a couple of gold spot trevally to start the first day followed by a shark mackerel. The spanish mackerel then started biting before the sharks become a bit of a nuisance. Some jigging saw Rick lose 7 nice fish in a row. Meanwhile Charmaine bought a nice cobia to the boat on soft plastics.
On the second single day charter we started with some GT (Giant Trevally) but unfortunately we had no luck. Next we decided to drop a spread of lures in for billfish. One came through for a quick look then 15 minutes later Charmaine was hooked up to her first ever Sailfish! While we were watching this beautiful fish do it’s dance another one decided to join in free jumping nearby.
Reef fishing proved a bit quieter with a couple of nice Rankin Cod taken on a jig and a nice size Gold Spot Trevally. The second single day charter aboard Reely Black was finished off with a nice Spanish Mackerel.
